Memorial colloquium for Prof Dr Herbert Goering and Prof Dr Lutz Tobiska
On 28 November 2025, the Faculty of Mathematics at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg will host a memorial colloquium in honour of Prof. Dr Herbert Göring and Prof. Dr Lutz Tobiska, who both passed away recently.
With this colloquium, we would like to honour the scientific work and achievements of the two outstanding Magdeburg mathematicians, who had a decisive influence on the research, teaching and development of the Faculty of Mathematics for decades.
In addition to presentations by students, companions and colleagues, there will also be space for personal dialogue and shared remembrance.
