Institute of Mathematical Optimization

Mathematical Optimization is sometimes referred to as the "Science of the Better". It is one important methodology in scientific computing, the third pillar of science that complements theory and experiment. Also in many areas of modern life optimization has become a key technology for efficient usage of resources. Research at IMO focusses both on mathematical and computational aspects of optimization.
