Self concept and interest at the beginning of university

Goals:

  • analysis of different interests and self-concepts of students, analysis of the influence affective features of success of studies

Method:

  • development of a questionnaire tool and quantitative main study with over 300 university beginners

Results:

  • instrument shows an acceptable quality
  • interest in university mathematics at the beginning stage of a study precises a study satisfaction in the first semester

Outlook:

  • analysis of mathematical previous knowledge at the beginning stage of the study
  • analysis of situal interest of (teacher) students
